Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Arthur M. Blank Hospital

Ardd + Winter provided interior and exterior lighting and lighting controls solutions for the new 1.6 million-square-foot Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta campus, one of the largest pediatric healthcare facilities in the United States. The firm’s scope included lighting for the hospital tower, emergency department canopy, parking deck, central utility plant, patient care floors, public spaces, staff support areas, and exterior site lighting throughout the campus.

Designed to support patients, families, and more than 4,500 healthcare professionals, the facility includes a central tower with two patient wings, expanded operating rooms, specialty care units, advanced diagnostic capabilities, and dedicated clinical research space. Ardd + Winter’s lighting solutions served patient rooms, nurse stations, infusion spaces, corridors, lobbies, cafeterias, staff respite areas, and specialty healthcare environments throughout the campus.

Working closely with the project team, Ardd + Winter supported fixture selection, controls integration, coordination, and project execution across multiple phases of construction. From daylighting strategies and skylights to advanced LED lighting and intelligent controls, the project reflects a thoughtful approach to healthcare lighting that enhances patient experience, supports caregiver performance, and contributes to long-term operational efficiency.
